Oh this is so cute! From the first snow flurry of fall through Valentine's Day, this charming snowman will melt your heart. A combination of embroidery and quilting skills will make this adorable patchwork pillow top. The snowman features a chenille cuff on his hat and the cursive backstitch sentiment is expertly embroidered in the hoop. You'll sew a pinwheel block and piece all the elements together on your sewing machine, then finish with a classic quilt binding for the perfect piped border. A specially sized pillow form will be available for purchase during class. Come join the Kimberbell fun!
Materials needed for class:
Embroidery machine, 5" x 7' hoop and 4" x 4" hoop (If you don't have a 4" x 4" hoop that's ok but must have 5" x 7" or larger hoop)
If your embroidery machine does not have a sewing component you will want to bring your sewing machine.
Pillow form - optional
Tannish Gold - I used Glide Military Gold
Brown - medium to dark
orange - for his carrot nose
Pre-filled White Bobbin thread for embroidery
Neutral piecing thread and filled bobbin for putting it all together - I used gray.
Sewing tools such as pins, seam ripper, snip scissors, tweezers, etc.
Quilting Ruler - A 10 ½" square really worked great for this project. Otherwise nothing longer than a 12" is needed.
Returning participants, don't forget to bring your Kimberbell USB memory stick with you to class. If you're new to this class, we'll give you a special memory stick with your design already loaded when you arrive.
