Homework: Many of the classes will have students do work at home to prepare for the class. We ask this in order to keep the cost of a class to a minimum, to prevent additional class fees. Once the class begins the instructor needs to focus their entire attention on teaching the class topic. If you are having difficulty preparing ahead for a class, please email the instructor for advice/ assistance.

A Quilter's Folly Classes


Oh my goodness this is a great tote! Summer vacation trip size, shopping size or even a great Sizzlin' Summer Shop Hop size. It's so nice and sturdy for any occasion. It's our 2nd annual two part Bag of the Month class. This one's just too special to be done in one sitting. We'll work on the outside of the bag in the first class then we'll meet back for part 2 the next month to finish up the special lining and put it all together. You'll learn how to cover some precut hexagons with your special fabric and then trim them out with your choice of scrappy or single color trim. Inside we'll add a slip pocket and a zipper pocket for great storage. Come join me for a great tote to take on any adventure!

This oh so adorable bicycle tote is our June Kimberbell Class. Its colorful embroidery design brings back the days of the "Bicycle Built For Two" song. Am I showing my age?? In this tandem design, little lovebirds look sweet perched on the bicycle seat and handles, and you'll adore the baskets of blossoms with fringe flowers too. We're getting ready for another great Kimberbell event. We'll have a fun filled day of embroidery, games, food and good friends old and new. This is more than an embroidery class it's an all day EVENT!! We're so excited to host this fun 4th of July project event. Each participant will receive an exclusive sewing bag completely filled with Kimberbell fabric and everything needed to make three amazing event projects. We'll open early for our participants, have snacks and lunch provided by A Quilter's Folly and have a blast! Come join the fun whether you're new to machine embroidery or a seasoned pro. If you've been curious about embroidery and want to see what all the fun is about, you can register for the event and we'll loan you an embroidery machine. What better way to find out if you'll like it! We're sure you will. Registration Forms for Friday, June 14th or Saturday, June 15th will be on hand at the shop. The final day to register is May 31st. Work this pieced unit simply using Deb Tucker's method to create Flying geese borders, sashes or just complete quilts. No Deb Tucker experience needed. Join us and you'll be hooked on her piecing method.

Volcanoes don't belong in the center of an eight-pointed star and they won't happen to you when you use the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star Tool. And, by the way, there will be no Y-seams! Be thoroughly stunned when you learn how to make a Lemoyne Star using a strip method. You will be able to make blocks as small as 3" all the way up to 12" with the same level of accuracy.

The Square Squared unit can be found within blocks as well as sashing. Since this unit is often used to connect other units, the points are extremely valuable for the design to work without interruption. You will save those points with the Square Squared tool. A secondary benefit to using Deb Tucker's method of creating Square Squared units is that you will not waste fabric. It's a win-win situation.

Choosing fabric and following complicated bargello patterns cause most to shy away from this design. With this pattern both those challenges are minimized. This bargello only takes 2 fabrics - a feature fabric and an ombre to coordinate. The complication is taken out with the easy tube method.
